Our History

Since 1915, the Ohio Foot and Ankle Medical Association (OHFAMA) has been the cornerstone of podiatric excellence in Ohio, preserving and advancing foot and ankle health.

In 2012, we changed our name from the Ohio Podiatric Medical Association (OPMA) to better reflect our comprehensive approach. Today, we represent over 600 licensed and resident podiatric physicians and surgeons across the state.

The OHFAMA is the Ohio state component of the American Podiatric Medical Association (APMA). Serving every corner of the state through eight regional academies, we ensure podiatric expertise is accessible to all Ohioans.

Our members deliver specialized medical and surgical care that keeps Ohioans mobile, independent, and pain-free. By addressing everything from common foot ailments to complex surgical reconstructions, OHFAMA podiatric physicians keep Ohioans on their feet every day.

OHFAMA Vision

The Ohio Foot and Ankle Medical Association is a professional organization of podiatric physicians recognized within the state as the preeminent providers of medical and surgical care of the foot and ankle.

OHFAMA Mission

The primary purpose of the Ohio Foot and Ankle Medical Association is to act as a single voice for podiatric physicians in Ohio to ensure the highest quality of medical and surgical foot and ankle care through advocacy, education, and public awareness.
