Presentation Objective: Overview of skin cancer, risk factors, basal cell carcinoma, squamous cell carcinoma, malignant melanoma, kaposi sarcoma, soft tissue sarcoma, monthly and yearly statistics, death rates, survivability, biopsy techniques, 10 year cancer report from 7,000 podiatrists diagnosing 14,000 lower extremity malignancies.
Learning Objectives: Improving physician diagnostic skills for identifying benign vs malignant skin cancer. Improving cancer patient outcomes with early diagnosis and aggressive treatment. Attaining competence with managing basal cell carcinoma, squamous cell carcinoma, and malignant melanoma. Reducing errors for identifying and treating lower extremity skin cancer.

Faculty Bio:
Dr. Daniel Waldman is originally from Oakland County Michigan. He graduated with a bachelors degree from Michigan State University. He received his podiatry degree in 1991 from SCPM where he graduated cum laude. Dr. Waldman did his surgical residency in Loma Linda California and then opened up Blue Ridge Foot Centers in Asheville North Carolina and has been in practice for over 30 years.
Dr. Waldman is married to his high school sweetheart who has a PhD in nursing research and she is one of the foremost authorities on dementia friendly communities. They have two children; a daughter who runs public events at a modern art museum in Los Angeles and a son who is a criminal defense attorney in North Carolina.
Dr. Waldman enjoys hiking, scuba diving, traveling the world, and is a licensed private pilot.
